What has been your political yearbook superlative be and why? It should represent the way you used your leadership in the election. For example, “Canvass Queen” or “Victorious Volunteer Mobilizer?”

Proud Member Political Organizer
I have had the privilege of working side by side with awesome members, staff and candidates.

What has been your proudest moment during this election?

Was when the candidate that I invited to our union meeting came and spoke. I also was very honored to be invited to see Hillary Clinton speak in Seattle.

Share a story about someone who you activated in the election this year.

I met a caregiver who had been suspended for something she hadn’t done. I contacted my organizer and gave her the members number. The member was able to return back to work the next day. This member was so impressed on how we all worked together that she now wants to be a leader and shop steward so she can help other caregivers.

What has been the biggest challenge you had during this election and how did you overcome it?

When I was getting signatures to put our initiative 1433 Raise Up Washington on the ballot. The biggest challenge was the negative attitudes of some about raising our minimum wage. I overcame this by my passion on how important it is to see people have a decent life by being able to pay their bills, rent etc.

Anything else you would like to add?

I have been so honored by being chosen by our union to be a Member Political Organizer. I am very proud to be a member of our awesome union SEIU775 NW
