If there were a leadership yearbook, what would your yearbook superlative be and why?

I think the most important take away for me is the massive amount of members that attended. when we are that united we can move mountains. i would love to see members in my local come out to a meeting and get fired up like in st. louis. but what will it take to get their attention? i think we need to start be going to each home and showing some love , let them know seiu is more that just the union dues. When they become more familiar with a friendly face i gaurantee we will get more results.

What is one of your proudest leadership moments during the past year and why? Feel free to share more than one.

Bargaining committee, i recently got the opportunity to sit on the bargaining committee and attend negotiation, and the entire week all i was focus on was the members and what’s important to them.

Looking ahead to this year, what do you want to be the next step in your development as a leader? How will that step help our movement for economic and racial justice?

I WOULD LIKE TO OPPORTUNITY TO TALK ONE ON ONE WITH EVERY SEIU MEMBER IN MY CITY, I STRONGLY THINK WE NEED TO START THERE. WE WILL DEFINITELY SEE MORE SUPPORT AT EVENTS IF WE BEGIN BY REACH OUT TO THOSE MEMBERS WHO DON’T EVEN KNOW THEY HAVE A UNION.

Anything else you would like to add?

There is no i in t.e.a.m some of us seem to have lost our focus…
